How did you get into film? What particularly attracted you to become part of this industry?

I’ve somehow always had a certain fascination for film. Actually, from the moment I started to understand how much it takes to make images look so organic & real, as if they were taken from the moment.

What distinguishes Tirol as a film region for you?

At first glance, of course, the huge backdrops that only Tyrol has to offer. As a cameraman, I see a different movie scene in every corner that would fit. But I think what many people overlook is how many brilliant crew members from all areas are here. In Tirol you can find a suitable cast for almost every department – not to mention the infrastructure of equipment and production companies, where people often only have Vienna or Munich in mind. Tirol has a lot to offer!

We are curious: Tell us your favourite location in Tirol!

As a person from Leutasch, I’m actually a bit biased – there are countless unique locations here on the Seefeld plateau. From the Gaistal valley to various hidden mountain huts to the Möserersee lake, there are many beautiful places. But what has captivated me the most so far is the Grawa waterfall in the Stubai. There are so many beautiful shots from there that it’s impossible to shoot them all.

And now: The stage is yours! Please introduce yourselves and your field of activity.

I discovered film from an early age. It was clear to me that I wanted to get behind the camera, no matter what form it took. I attended the Ferrari School of Media and Design in Innsbruck. Along the way, I taught myself everything I know today using YouTube and the internet, and kept expanding my skills by constantly trying things out and optimizing them. I spent some time in Vienna learning at one of the largest advertising film productions in Austria and finally started my own film production business straight after graduating from high school.

Today, with my company Urban Reels Media (https://www.urbanreels.eu/), I mainly produce image and advertising films for various clients in Austria and the EU. But I also work as a freelancer for TV, feature films and live productions. To keep the fun of creative filmmaking alive, I am also involved in various short film projects. In addition to my main role as DoP, I usually also take on other roles in the short films, for example in editing or production.

All in all, I’m happy to have any opportunity to be on a set, no matter what form it takes. Whether I’m producing myself with my company or helping another team to make a movie for real. For me, this is my dream job, I always love trying out new areas and at the end of the day bringing stories to life through my images.
