How did you get into film? What particularly attracted you to become part of this industry?
Growing up in the middle of Germany, I watched a lot of ski films when we weren’t in the mountains ourselves. I used to ski race back then and traveled a lot to do so. The films inspired me to film and photograph our skiing adventures too. For me, mountain sports and pictures were immediately linked. There were no cell phone cameras back then (and of course no Instagram), so I was even more fascinated by professional film crews.
I moved to Innsbruck when I was 19 and met many like-minded people there. I initially studied economics and did my Master’s in Strategic Management. After a few years of professional experience, I realized that I wanted to work on a project-by-project basis, organize and take on responsibility. That’s how I found my dream job as a freelancer in film and photo productions.
What distinguishes Tirol as a film region for you?
The mountains and valleys, of course. The rustic, the lonely. And, if you do need a bit of city, Innsbruck also has a lot to offer!
We are curious: Tell us your favourite location in Tirol!
Difficult question. For me, a favorite location doesn’t just mean that it’s beautiful, but also that the shoot can run smoothly. Communication between the locals and the film crew should work well and the conditions on location should suit our requirements. Of course, this varies from project to project.

I organize advertising shoots and filming: from cost calculation to location scouting, all organization in advance and complete support on location. On request, I also develop creative concepts and marketing strategies together with my clients.
For larger films, I like to work as a location scout, location manager or in various assistant roles.
