How did you get into film? What particularly attracted you to become part of this industry?
As a child, I found my mother’s video camera and when I was allowed to play with it a little, I was hooked. Shortly afterwards, I was allowed to visit the Bavaria Film Studios in Munich with my school and I wanted to make films there too.
I acquired my filmmaking skills as a self-taught artist. Although I had limited English as a child, I immersed myself in various American books on filmmaking and then directed schoolmates with my mother’s video camera. All my knowledge about filmmaking comes from professional journals and textbooks.
What distinguishes Tirol as film region for you?
Filmland Tirol in Austria is characterized by its impressive natural beauty, which makes it an ideal location for filming. The picturesque mountain landscape, historic towns and diverse backdrops offer a unique environment for film productions.

My favorite location is Kufstein Fortress.
