How did you get into film? What particularly attracted you to become part of this industry?
I love to create other worlds, dangerous situations, emotional encounters, good and bad people in my imagination. That’s why I wrote down stories on my father’s electric typewriter when I was a child. Eventually I discovered cinema for myself and literally got emotionally involved in the films. I literally felt the pain, the love, the happiness, the sadness of the actors and actresses. At the age of 40, I finally fulfilled my dream and completed my screenplay training at the Munich Film Academy.
What appeals to me as a scriptwriter is that I can let my imagination run free and that there are no limits to my stories and the people in them.
What distinguishes Tirol as film region for you?
Whether old farmhouses, impressive mountain massifs, rushing streams or clear lakes. The nature in Tirol is unique and there are therefore plenty of breathtaking locations to shoot a great film. But it is also the competent support of the helpful and friendly team of Cine Tirol that makes filming in Tirol so special.
We are curious: Tell us your favourite location in Tirol!
There are so many great places in Tirol that it’s not easy for me to answer. From the ‚Oberland‘ to the ‚Unterland‘ and also in East Tirol there are wonderful places to discover. But since I grew up near Lake Achensee and still live there, the lake and its surroundings with the valleys and alpine pastures are a very special place for me that gives me strength and inspiration.

My name is Silvia and I trained as a screenwriter with Axel Melzener at the Munich Film Academy.
Besides two published print books – the first book is an art book about a deceased Tyrolean artist ‚Erich Stockhammer – academic painter, skier, Jenbacher‘ and the second book is a children’s book ‚Sophie’s magical journey through the world of numbers‘ – I wrote several screenplays for various image films.
With my screenplay ‚Amnesie – Gefangen im falschen Leben‘ (Amnesia – Trapped in the Wrong Life) I reached the semi-finals of the international screenplay competition writemovies.com. And with the script about ‚Sophie’s Magical Journey through the World of Numbers‘ I made it to the top 10 in the same script competition years later and received an ‚Honorable Mention‘.
Excerpts from some of my scripts were read at the ‚Literaturwerkstatt‘ Campus Radio St. Pölten and at ‚Ohrenkino‘ Radio Berlin.
Servus TV published my short story ‚Baum fällt‘, and I also write various articles for regional magazines.
For the no budget short film REALIZE (3rd place at the international Nature Film Festival Innsbruck, 1st place Film Festival Thiersee/Tirol) I gave production support for the script, among other things.
In 2019 I won 1st prize at the literature slam at the book fair ‚Das andere Buch‘ in Buchau am Achensee.
